RTLB Practice

RTLB use the following documents to ensure students with additional learning needs are being met and schools are well supported.

The Māori Education Strategy: Ka Hikitia – Accelerating Success 2013–2017

  • The strategy to rapidly change how the education system performs so all Māori students gain the skills, qualifications and knowledge they need to enjoy and achieve education success as Māori.

Pasifika Education Plan 2013-2017 

  • Aimed at raising Pasifika learners' participation, engagement and achievement from early learning through to tertiary education.

New Zealand Disability Strategy

  • Aimed at enabling people with disabilities to participate fully in society.

The role requires RTLB to be transparent, inclusive, and collaborative in their practice and to use robust, well-planned systems for data collection, intervention, and reporting. They are expected to be reflective and use all information to inform future practice.
