RTLB use the following documents to ensure students with additional learning needs are being met and schools are well supported.
- The strategy to rapidly change how the education system performs so all Māori students gain the skills, qualifications and knowledge they need to enjoy and achieve education success as Māori.
- Aimed at raising Pasifika learners' participation, engagement and achievement from early learning through to tertiary education.
- Aimed at enabling people with disabilities to participate fully in society.
The role requires RTLB to be transparent, inclusive, and collaborative in their practice and to use robust, well-planned systems for data collection, intervention, and reporting. They are expected to be reflective and use all information to inform future practice.
